Golin PK organized a meet up between Food & Film at Wingitt.

Wingitt launched in 2016, with a vision to provide premium chicken wings tossed in a variety of flavors. An event that includes Food and provides you a chance to meet cast of Chalay Thay Sath under one roof, you don’t need much time to say yes to the organizers.

Chalay Thay Sath is an upcoming movie, to be released later this month. The cast of Chalay Thay Sath includes Syra Shehroz, Kent S Leung, Behrooz Subzwari, Zhalay Sarhadi, Mansha Pasha, Shamim Hilaly, Osama Tahir, Faris Khalid and Sherbaz Kaleem. It is a story of travellers on the road to self-discovery, dedicated to remote region of Hunza in the Gilgit Baltistan. After attending this meet up, I am excited to watch this film once it is released.

Moreover, I am in love with the food by Wingitt, it is awesome and tasty. Their presentation and taste of flavor were amazing. Currently, they are offering about 19 flavors. The flavor that attracted my taste the most is “Buffalo Hot Sauce”.  If you are planning to have a food at Wingitt, please give a try to “mustered honey wings”.

Event began on time; Cast shared their memorable experiences with media and attendees by participating in Q & A session. As they started narrating their journey, they took us to the mountains of Gilgit. Chalay Thay Sath cast has an exciting competition waiting on the event; it was “The Hot Blazing Challenge”. Challenge was accepted by Kent, Faris and Osama; they had to scoff eight chicken wings in less than four minutes. Though it was a close competition, but audience had to decide one winner and it was Osama who won this interesting competition.

About World Oral Health Day

World Oral Health Day is celebrated globally every year on 20 March and is organized by FDI World Dental Federation. World Oral Health Day was launched in 2013 to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health and its significance in safeguarding general health and well-being. This is done through an international awareness campaign created and launched by FDI World Dental Federation, adapted and promoted locally by national dental associations in over 140 countries worldwide.

History of World Oral Health Day

WOHD was officially launched in 2007 and was originally celebrated on 12 September, the birth date of FDI founder Dr Charles Godon. However, the campaign was not fully activated until 2013, when further to a decision by FDI’s General Assembly (governing body) in September 2012 the date was changed to 20 March. The main reason for this was being to avoid conflict with FDI’s World Dental Congress which took place during the same per

The new date was chosen to reflect that:

  • Seniors must have a total of 20 natural teeth at the end of their life to be considered healthy
  • Children should possess 20 baby teeth
  • Healthy adults must have a total of 32 teeth and 0 dental cavities
  • Expressed on a numerical basis this can be translated as 3/20 hence March 20

#ShieldYourSmile is a major step towards providing people awareness about their oral health and issues related to dental care. These are the few tips to brush your teeth:

1.   Brush your teeth twice a day.

2.   Replace your toothbrush regularly.

3.   Practice good technique to brush your teeth.

4.   Spend at least 3 minutes while brushing. Don’t ignore the inside upper & lower teeth.

5.   Use fluoride toothpaste (helps remove plaque).

6.   Rinse out your mouth and your tooth brush in the end.

Remember:

Not only oral health benefit us socially and help us in other things such as our careers and relationships, but it also has many more practical benefits. Visiting your dentist every 6 months is always essential to keep your mouth healthy.

Globally, between 60–90% of schoolchildren and nearly 100% adults have tooth decay, often leading to pain and discomfort.

Oral disease affects 3.9 billion people worldwide with untreated tooth decay impacting almost half of the world’s population.

Woven Stories by Ahsan Amin (EWC-Interiors)

Cover-ECW-Interiors-Hsohu.png

We have some wonderful persons in our country, who are die-hard fans of promoting art of our country. We are also blessed with very rich culture of artists and experts in every aspect of life. But specifically I am going to tell you about an art, which is now making its presence at international level through some dedicated persons like Ahsan Amin. As technology evolves rapidly these art works needs to be enabled with latest technologies and man like Ahsan are doing same for our community.

Let me introduce Ahsan Amin. A man who started his journey from an early age to a surfeit of handicrafts made and assembled across all of the provinces of Pakistan by his family’s business, Ahsan understood that design, unfortunately, was led by the international market. After completing his undergraduate studies in Canada, most of which was spent in testing the foreign market for Pakistani handicrafts and developing of contacts, Ahsan returned to his homeland of Karachi with a mission. He was going to take his father’s business model of exporting to foreign clients, and completely revamp the production process by collaborating across the seven seas.

What was started almost three decades ago has now grown into a great company known to many as East West Connections, which not only aims to serve customers all over the world but also to provide artisans from all over the world, especially Pakistan, with a platform where their creations can be truly admired by a greater audience that they could ever imagine. At East West Connections they offer a whole array of products ranging from rustic to contemporary to quench all your decor needs.

They (EWC interiors) strive to not only serve their clients and customers but also to provide the real artists, the fabricators of these awe inspiring products living in destitute areas of Pakistan, with an incentive to not only better themselves but everyone around them. And that is truly a greatest achievement for a Pakistani company.

They have been serving the customers of America, South America, Europe France, East Asia, Japan, Africa specifically Kenya, meaning their products are universal and recognised by the Artisan’s Community of the five Continents. I believe it is a great service to our country’s image building and revamping our rich artistic culture too.

Woven Stories:

Woven fabric is a textile formed by weaving. It is produced on a loom, and made of many threads woven on a warp and a weft. ECW has a wide variety and range in woven crafts. Ahsan Amin has a brilliant collection of rugs and other items related to woven for your home décor.

ECW-Interiors went Live on their Facebook page.

They (ECW) are organizing exhibition on regular basis. Recently Ahsan had collaborated with another famous personality- Tariq Luni, an internationally, recognized award winning sculptor, to display their works under the exhibition “Woven Stories” which was on display at the recently inaugurated Slingshot Studios between 3rd-5th February. Together, they had shown some of their most exclusive art pieces. Before this exhibition none of the pieces on display have ever been showcased by them before. One of the rugs on display took nearly two years for the artisans to complete. They are organizing these types of exhibitions on regular basis; if you had missed this time you should visit next time, but why not to visit their Facebook page & Instagram. You can also visit them at their store follow this link.
