1st Test | Pakistan win by 7 wickets against West Indies

Misbah Ul Haq captain of Pakistan Cricket team finished the game two back-to-back sixes and give Pakistan team another test win. Pakistan was chasing a small target of 32 which suddenly became a headache for them as they lost three wickets in the process, but Misbah came and hit two sixes of his only two balls faced. Pakistan is now 1-0 up in the series and still 2 more test matches to be played in this series.

Pakistan is going well in the Caribbeans, after winning both T20 International and One Day International series, now they are heading towards Test series win as well. This Test has its own importance because Pakistan’s two premier middle-order batsmen (Misbah and Younis Khan) are going to retire at the completion of the series.

Few notes:

Younis Khan became first Pakistani, 6th Asian and 13th Overall batsman to make 10000 or more runs in Test Cricket, he needed 23 more runs to achieve this milestone before coming into this test match and he achieved this by sweeping on the bowl of Chase by getting four runs on 3rd day of the Game.

Misbah Ul Haq also achieved his own milestone of making 5000 Test runs in this same test match. He also finished the match with two sixes, which gives him a lot of unique records.

Misbah left stranded at 99 not out. First Pakistan batsman and 6th in history to remain not out on 99 in Tests. Mohammad Abbas was adjudged LBW after reviewing it was an umpire’s call.

Muhammad Amir got six wickets in first match, after returning to Cricket it is his first five or more wickets haul in International Cricket. This Aamir’s 6-44 are best bowling figures by a Pakistan fast bowler in Tests in last 7 years. Since Asif’s 6-41 in Sydney 2010.

This is Misbah-ul-Haq’s 25th Test win as a captain and all 25 have been away from home (Pakistan). As Pakistan is playing their home series at neutral venue (UAE).

Yasir Shah awarded as a player of the match on his super bowling in the second innings as he finished up with 6 wickets, he has also picked up two wickets in first innings.
