Cricingif & PepsiCo have collaborated to launch Pakistan’s very own Virtual Reality cricket game in a four-day-long activation held in Lahore. The activation, held from 19th May, 2017 till 21st May, 2017, will attract thousands of frenzied fans in a cricket-mad nation.

Pepsi previously joint hands for finding the young and talented players from all over Pakistan under their trial program called ‘Future 11’. According to Pepsi & PCB Future11 campaign will groom youngsters from the start so that in future they will become assets for the Pakistani team.

December will host First- ever PAKISTAN Film Festival to take place in New York

The Pakistan Film Festival – New York, produced by the continuous efforts of Dr. Maleeha Lodhi (The permanent representative of Pakistan to UN) –managed by Catwalk Event Management & Productions, will kick off on the 2nd of December with a red carpet reception at the United Nations for Ambassadors & representatives accredited to UN, as well as the members of Pakistani media and film. The festival will continue for 2 days, showcasing some of the finest films to come out of Pakistan in an era when cinema is undergoing a revival in the country.

In 2005 Catwalk Event Management organized a fashion event at Dr. Maleeha Lodhi’s residence in London, followed by, “Pakistan Festival” that took place in London on 28th July 2007, for the designer Maheen Khan, under the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom – Dr. Maleeha Lodhi, in partnership with the channel, GEO. The street parade at Regent Street- London was followed by a festival in Trafalgar Square. This was a special celebration as in 2007 it was 60 years since Pakistan declared independence on 14th August 1947 and was one of the mega events hosted by Dr. Maleeha Lodhi & Catwalk Event Management .Three floats representing fashion, sports and entertainment were displayed at the event. Performances by famous Pakistani singers and celebrities, in the parade, such as Abrar-ul Haq, Hadiqa Kiyani, and Jawad Ahmed were enjoyed to the fullest by the Londoners on the entertainment float. Sportsmen such as Jehangir Khan and Waqar Younis also graced the event with their presence on the sports float and accomplished fashion designers such as Nomi Ansari, Maheen Khan and Deepak Perwani along with some of Pakistan’s top models were present on the entertainment float. The energy of the 25000+ crowd was amazing!
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 launch last year at the Lincoln Centre, New York with the nationwide brand face, Fawad Khan. On August 13, 2015 Pakistan’s permanent representative to UN, Maleeha Lodhi hosted a dinner with, PR maven, Frieha Altaf for Pakistani superstar Fawad Khan at her residence. Among those present at the largely-attended event were Pakistanis and officers of the Pakistan Mission to the UN and Consulate General.

Zong 4G is expanding its wings in Pakistan during 2016

Zong will add an additional 1,000 4G sites across Pakistan in 2016. This news was shared today after the company achieved their 2016 4G rollout plan, 3 months ahead of schedule, showing an outstanding execution of their 4G roll out site plan.

The addition of 1,000 4G sites will take the overall tally of Zong’s 4G sites to around 6,000 by the end of this year, making it the largest, widest and fastest in terms of 4G coverage. To facilitate company’s ambitious expansion plans, Zong’s parent company, China Mobile Communications Corporation, which is the largest telecommunications company in the world, has given a go-ahead for additional investment. Through this, the total 4G investment of Zong in Pakistan is going to cross USD 300 Million by the end of this year.

It is to be noted that Pakistan’s fastest growing 4G network recently expanded its 4G coverage to over 100 cities nationwide and was also designated by PTA as the No.1 operator in voice and data services. This expansion plan is a strong indicator of Zong’s long-term commitment to the local telecommunication market.  The rollout will greatly enhance Zong’s 4G coverage and quality of data user experience, reflecting organization’s aspiration to transform the digital lives of Pakistanis through its high speed data services.

The Premiere of ‘Teri Meri Love Story’ takes place in Karachi

‘Teri Meri Love Story’ (TMLS), a directorial knack from Jawad Bashir manages to enthrall and entertain audiences at its premiere in Karachi. The film is now scheduled to hit cinemas across the country on 2nd September, 2016.

A quirky and upbeat rom-com, the movie revolves around Esha (played by Ushna Shah) a beautiful, stylish TV host who is on an exciting shooting assignment accompanied by her crew and friends, including the goofy and mischievous Sherry (played by Mohsin Abbas), Mona (played by Uzma Khan) and Danish (played by Ahmad Abdul Rehman).

Esha wants to marry her true love Ramis, (played by Omer Shahzad), but her father (played by Salman Shahid) is adamant that she marries her childhood family friend Nael, (who is being played by the drama industry’s superstar Mohib Mirza). What follows is an adventurous and hilarious journey to finding true love.

Produced and distributed by Summit Entertainment, and with a strong cast, the movie is all set to entertain audiences of all ages, adding a new flavor to the Pakistani Film Industry.

While talking at the premiere, Wasay Nabi, Director of Summit Entertainment, said, “Pakistani film projects like this are a reason of immense pride and joy for us all.” On the other hand Rafay Nabi, who is also a director in the same company, added, “Like all the previous milestones we have achieved as a company, TMLS will also be a trendsetter based on its action sequences, humorous one-liners and a strong story line. I am sure we shall be able lure audiences to theatres for a fun-filled experience.”

Speaking at the occasion, Writer and Director of TMLS, Jawwad Bashir said, “The movie is a sincere attempt to add a new flavor to the local industry. The idea was to create something exciting that would entertain and capture the attention of our audiences worldwide. I’m grateful to all my supporters who waited patiently for the movie and can only hope my work and efforts are witnessed through this film and are truly enjoyed.”

Some of the most prominent names of the Pakistani film and TV industry, including the star cast of the movie, were present at the premier.

The film’s advance bookings are now also underway at cinemas nationwide.

Independence Day Celebrations at Dolmen Malls

As our Independence Day approaches, we see the city changing itself to represent the colors of Pakistan, and Dolmen did not stay behind in giving its visitors a flavor of patriotism. This year, their theme, ‘Dolmen loves Pakistan’, was weaved around the concept of #HamariPehchan aimed at giving people a chance to celebrate Pakistan’s identity. Spanning across all three malls, namely Dolmen Mall Clifton, Dolman Mall Tariq Road and Dolmen Mall Hyderi, the event kicked off on 12th of August 2016.

“Living in a time where there is so much uncertainty and negativity surrounding our identity as a nation, we wanted to celebrate the achievements and entertainment aspects of Pakistan which we are known for. These things are relatable to the older as well as the younger generation of this country and they need to be celebrated. This is what makes us proud as Pakistanis,” said Anum Nadeem, Marketing Head of the Dolmen Group at the event.

A weekend worth of activities were executed in all its patriotic glamour and glory.For this, the mall was draped in shades of greens and whites.The walkways saw magnificent replicas of the country’s monuments. From live murals of national heroes to specially dressed guards standing and saluting the customers, the entire mall gave off 14th August vibes. The main atrium was designed to take the mall-goers on a photographic journey through Pakistan and its rich culture. Adding to the desi feel, a dhaabawas set up by Chai Wala offering fresh parathas and chai for all those craving for a cup of tea, Pakistan’s undisputed favourite drink. Folk music and a special Azadi Bazaar selling flags, badges, and other patriotic merchandise set the right mood to the three-day event.

To mark the eve of Independence Day, a grandiose performance by Sounds of Kolachi dazzled the audience. The soulful music melted into the beautiful notes of our National Anthem at precisely 12 AM, amidst a shower of confetti while the guards raised the flag and saluted. The moment was breathtakingly beautiful.

On the same night, visitors at Dolmen Mall Tariq Road were enthralled to find Noori performing live and did not shy away from fully enjoying patriotic beats.

On the digital front, an instagram competition was hosted, allowing amateur photographers to showcase their talent. Top three photographs were selected and awarded with prizes. More prizes awaited all those who visited Dolmen wearing green. Shoppers and visitors were, thus, pleasantly surprised at various occasions.

As another successful event comes to an end, Dolmen stands tall and proud; the management determined to keep providing more quality events and celebrations to its visitors. Let’s wait to see what they have in store for the next event!
