Mobicash is now ‘JazzCash’

Move made in a bid to take mobile banking in to the digital age

 

Following the launch of Jazz as Mobilink’s umbrella brand, Mobilink has now introduced ‘JazzCash’ as its brand name for Mobile Financial Services (MFS) to replace its Mobicash brand. The decision was made to further strengthen Jazz as a one-stop solution to cater to the wider needs of subscribers in a digitally progressive world.

Talking about the launch, Aamir Ibrahim, Deputy CEO & CCO – Mobilink, said:“The reintroduction of Jazz as the face of Mobilink’s digital journey meant a string of communication solutions under the Jazz ecosystem primed for the digital age.  In this way, our latest offering, JazzCash, is version 2.0 of our mobile financial service, Mobicash.”

While talking about the diverse portfolio that JazzCash offers, she added, “Our ever growing product portfolio now includesDomestic Remittances, Transfers to and from Banks, Bill Payments, Mobile Top Ups, ATM Cards, Passport Fee Payment, Online Payment Gateway, Savings, and NFC payments& Life insurance. In addition, we have added more digital channels through which these services can be accessed;our mobile applications for customers and agents will certainly further improve accessibility and reach of financial services for Pakistanis.”

With the launch of JazzCash, available at over 60,000 retail outlets nationwide, Mobilink is looking to revolutionize the way people utilize mobile banking by way of digital integration. In this regard, under JazzCash three new services were announced.

First and foremost, for facilitation of growing number of smartphone users, JazzCashlaunched an Android based Mobile Account application. This application offers a user friendly interface and a secure transactions platform allowing customers of all networks to perform all necessary financial transactions, which were previously being done only through USSD which was available for Jazz subscribers only.

Secondly, keeping in mind the rapidly growing e-commerce industry, JazzCash is introducing a payment mechanism for online purchases powered with an escrow feature. Subscribers will have an option to pay through their JazzCash Mobile Account and Retailers. In addition, customers of other banks can also pay through Credit or Debit card.

 

Lastly, Mobile Account users will now also be facilitated through a JazzCash NFC Payment solution. The ‘tap n pay’ facility will soon be available at a number of merchants nationwide over the coming months as a part of providing customers a unique shopping experience at par with international standards.

The PAS Awards, organized by the Pakistan Advertisers Society, and one of the most recognized and prestigious award program of the marketing and advertising industry, awarded jubilant winners at a star-studded gala awards function held at the Expo Centre in Karachi on April 30, 2016.

 

Presented by Tarang in association with Nestle Fruita Vitals and Filmazia entertainment, this year, apart from the 12 regular categories, Pakistan Advertisers’ Society introduced 9 special categories and 3 special awards that honoured the most innovative marketing and advertising efforts of 2015. The PAS Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Tariq Ikram and the honourable Senator Pervez Rashid, Minister of Information and Broadcasting presented this prestigious award.

The host for the award ceremony was Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Rubya Chaudhry while the show featured entertaining performances by Sound of Kolachi, Ali Azmat, Sammi Brothers and Kaif Ghaznaiv, Love Me Again fame Girl Band, Mind Reader Mentalist and ended with an all star National Anthem.  In strategic partnership with ESP Group M and Urdu1, the show was directed by Yasra Rizvi. The Red carpet was hosted by Sadar Xin Khan and Hira Hussain and celebrities and presenters were managed by Moiz Kazmi.

 

Apart from these star studded performances the show also featured a glittering line up of award presenters both from the advertising and the entertainment industry like Shazia Syed, Amna Ilyas. Sheheryar Humayun, Sarmad Ali, Zhalay Sarhady, Mujahid Hamid, Sarfaraz Rehman, Salman Butt, Khurram Koraishy, Abrar Hasan, Babur Sultan, George Skaff, Usman Dilawaiz, Asif Aziz,  Nadeem Hussain, Atiqa Odho, Sohai Ali, Gia Ali, Fia Khan, Mantahaa Tareen, Sarwat Gillani and Fahad Mirza.

Mobilink Business Golf Tournament 2016 Concludes its Karachi Leg

The Mobilink Business Golf Tournament 2016, a premium amateur golfing tournament of Pakistan, concluded its 2nd round at Karachi Golf Club. The tournament witnessed participation from amateur golfers from amongst distinguished customers of Mobilink and top management of the company. Prizes in various categories were distributed amongst the winning participants, media representatives and outstanding performers.

The Mobilink Business Golf Tournament has been of one of the most sought after amateur golf events of Pakistan over the last eight years. It continues to attract a diverse segment of the country’s corporate and business sector, making for a well competed event,providing healthy entertainment and promoting golf in Pakistan.
